Abstract:
Creativity has mostly been associated with writing, painting, acting or playing musical instruments. But it is not only about all these, it is associated with solving problems and developing new perspectives about a particular problem. Thing is a crucial human activity. The “Six thinking Hats” strategy can be applied effectively when complete and innovative responses to situations are needed. it involves effective problem solving; it requires making decisions, taking into account a number of factors; it trains the learner to look at the problems from different aspects while focusing on a single perspective at a time.
Objective of the research were:
Experimental method is used to test effectiveness of Six Thinking Hat on the development of problem solving skills. The sample size for the study was 20 students from Masters in Educational Technology (Computer Application). The sampling method used was Cluster sampling. The students were divided into two groups’ i.e. experimental and control group randomly. The tools used for the study were pre- test, post-test, evaluation rubrics to test the process and product of problem solving.
The experimental group students responded optimistically to these strategy and they even came up with new problems and situations for further discussion. The control group students solve the problems randomly, i.e., with no particular sequence and strategy.
