Abstract:
Experimental learning provides affective and behavioural as well as cognitive learning. It refers to learning that is derived from situations, in which learner experimental with new information and/or skills, and his/her learning process by applying them to new challenges. The main focus of experimental learning is to develop link between theory and practice.

Objectives of the research were:

  • To apply experimental learning in different situations.
  • To study the role of experimental learning in training.

The method used for this study is the case study method. The subjects in the study are the participants of UGC Refresher Course. The sample size was 38. The participants were given opinionnaires after the completion of training. Opinionnaires and observational schedule were the tools for the study. The opinionnaires is rated on five point rating scale were, five is the highest score and one is the lowest score.

The conclusion is that the sessions were highly experimental as the participants were of the opinion that they had applied what they have learned during the sessions. From the study, the findings are that, the experimental learning helps the learner to understand and apply the learning in different situations. Experimental learning administered for providing training is effective.
