ACADEMIC EVENTS
Workshops:
September 8-10, 2004 - Workshop on Instructional Design for Online Learning was held. The Chief Guests/Speakers for the event were Ms. Kathlene Miller, Ms. Kate Dixon, Instructional Designer from Washington D.C., USA, Dr. Vasudha Kamat & Dr. Jayashree Shinde. It was sponsored by UGC and 25 participants from DNDTU Faculty participated in the workshop.
September 2-5, 2004 - Workshop on Dreamweaver was held during . The Chief Guest for the workshop was Ms. Kate Dixon, Instructional Designer from Washington D.C., USA. It was sponsored by DET and 10 participants from SNDTU Faculty participated in the workshop.
FACULTY EVENTS
Dr. Vasudha Kamat, Jt. Director, CIET, NCERT
December 2005 - Appointed by the MHRD (Ministry of Human Resources Development), New Delhi as a member of Focused Group of Educational Technology for the Development of Curriculum Framework. Participated in two meetings in Dec 2004 and Feb. 2005. She also was invited to be a member of Repot writing team.
Nov. 5-7, 2004 - International Workshop on “Development of Quality Indicators for Teacher Education” organized jointly by Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), at Bangalore
Oct. 17-24, 2004 - Visited Shanghai, China to participate in a workshop organized by IFTS. She visited the East China Normal University and delivered a lecture on “Constructivism” for the M.Ed., Ph.D. students and staff. She gave a visit Tongji University as well.
July-Aug., 2004 - Conducted 6 orientation Programmes (2 at each campus) of 3 hrs each for the teaching staff at all three campuses of SNDTU.
July 2-3, 2004 - Conducted workshop on Micro-teaching for the Faculty Improvement programme organized by the St. Francis Institute of Technology

July-Aug., 2004 - Conducted 6 orientation Programmes (2 at each campus) of 3 hrs each for the teaching staff at all three campuses of SNDTU.
June 2004 - Conducted two sessions on “Effective PowerPoint Presentations” for the participants of Staff Development Programme organized by the St. Francis Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
March 2004 - Conducted a session on “Educational Technology” component for the participants of the workshop on NET/SET organised by the Institute of Distance Education, Mumbai University.
November 2003 - Conducted session on Interactivity for CAI for the participants of the Refresher course for the Lecturers in Polytechnics. Organised by the Satara Polytechnic, at Satara
September 2003 - Participated in 21 day Refresher Course in Information Technology for Higher Education held in Goa.
VISITS AND VISITORS
March 2005 - Prof. Vijaya Mulay and Ms. Chandita Mukharjee, Film Producers and critics visited the department in March and spoke to the METCA students.
February 2005 - A visit of METCA students was arranged to New Delhi.
25 students and two staff members visited various educational institutions (viz. EMRC-IGNOU, Hole in the Wall Experiment and Cognitive research Laboratory of NIIT, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Informatics and Central Institute of Educational Technology-NCERT). It was very fruitful visit.
Oct. 17-24, 2004 - Dr. Vasudha Kamat visited Shanghai, China to participate in the three day workshop.
Aug. 29-Sept. 11, 2004 -Ms. Kate Dixon, and Ms. Kathleen Miller Instructional Designers from Washington D.C., US visited the Department for 2 weeks and conducted workshops.
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
- A research project "A Study of effectiveness of Interactive Multimedia packages" was conducted.
It was sponsored by the Bombay Community Public Trust, Mumbai.
Project Leader for this research project was Dr. Vasudha Kamat.
- A major research project on "Development of Interactive Multimedia Courseware on concepts from Educational Psychology" was conducted.
Principal Investigator for this project was Dr. Vasudha Kamat.
- A minor research project on "Development of Interactive Multimedia on some concepts from Mathematics at Grade VI" was undertaken.
Chief Investigator for this project was Dr. Jayashree Shinde
PUBLICATION
Students of MET-CA have developed SNDT University Web site (www.sndt.ac.in).
