Abstract:

The present study focuses on the instructional game mode. The use of carefully selected and integrated and educational computer games can provide an excellent vehicle to impart knowledge in an enjoyable order. In order to enhance learning, students’ active participation is necessary. Computer based educational games offer participation, formats that can be truly unique. An instructional game motivates learners and focuses their attention on the goal of the game and this leads to efficient learning.  

Objectives of the research were:

  • To study various aspects of computer games.
  • To study the contribution of computer games in the field of education.
  • To evaluate instructional game package.

The packages selected to study were drill games. A check list and rating scales were used to evaluate the educational game packages. Sample consists of three percent other than the researcher.

All the games selected for the study were drill games as the study aims at various aspects of games that are of value to education. These games and activities help in gaining their attention and help them to achieve their desired skills through continuous drill and practice.
          From the analysis of the data it can be concluded that all three educational game packages selected are capable to fulfill the learning objectives.
