Abstract:
The World Wide Web is a tool that empowers society to school the illiterate, bring job skills to job training to the unskilled, open a universe of wondrous images and knowledge to all students and enrich the understanding of the learner. New methodologies that give more control to the learner are being gradually adopted and cooperative learning strategies are gaining importance. Webquest are designed to bring together the most effective instructional practices into one integrated student activity. Thus Webquests tend to blend an optimum use of the internet with a thoroughly learner centered approach.
Objectives of the research were:
- To study the effectiveness of web quest in learning PowerPoint presentation skills
- To study the opinion of students towards the use of web quest as an
- instructional strategy
To fulfill the above objectives the researcher selected a pre-experimental design in that one group pretest posttest design was chosen. The treatment was administered on the 8th grade students. Students were selected purposively. It was found that students prefer a group activity, they can make good use of the internet as learning resource.
