Topic: The role of e-tutor at various stages of e-learning process

Abstract:
This study states the roles that are being played by the e- tutor to help the e- learners at various stages of e- learning process. The transformation of traditional face to face classrooms into virtual classrooms has influenced the role and responsibilities of the instructor in virtual learning. In an e- learning program, the kind of support expected from an e–tutor at various stages is different. In order to find out range of roles and responsibilities taken by the e- tutor to provide this support, this study was undertaken.

Objectives of the research were:

  • Identify the roles played by an E- tutor at every stage of E- learning process.
  • Find out the activities carried out by E- tutor in each role at every stage of e-l earning process.

A sample of 5 instructors was selected for this study. Tool used for this study was questionnaire which was based on the various stages of learning and roles of e- tutor. From the collected data researcher analyzed that, thorough knowledge of stages of e-learning process is necessary to show the actual path through which the learner progresses and provides in depth knowledge about the activities carried between learner and e- tutor.
