Abstract:
Learning objects are emerging as the technology of choice in the next generation of instructional design, design, development and delivery due to its potential for reusability, adaptability and scalability. Need for conducting the research was making the people aware about the threat which plastic garbage is posing to our environment and socially responsible for the same through learning objects. Because learning objects have a wide individualized appeal they are proved to be effective in creating environmental awareness in the society.

Objectives of the research were:

To study the effectiveness of learning objects in developing environmental awareness

To study the effect of learning objects on bringing about a change in opinion in the students

Single group pre test post test experimental design was selected. The research was conducted on 35 students of standards seventh or eight of English medium schools in Mumbai.
It was concluded that there was a significant gain in the knowledge of the students about plastics in the environment through learning objects. Also there was a positive opinion change in the students after learning through learning objects.
